Ores Guide
Galithin's custom ores are found inside dungeons. Mining them can yield raw custom materials used in recipes and progression. This guide shows the standard ores, the five rarer unique ores, their raw drops, and their ingot or gem forms. Midnight materials and Rift Shards are covered separately below for preparing your next dungeon run.
Dungeon ores
Explore the resource deposits in generated dungeon rooms. All fourteen ores below are dungeon ores; standard and unique describe how rare they are and how likely they are to drop their raw material. The ore deposits you find can differ between runs.
Standard custom ores: These nine ores are the more common custom dungeon ores. Each has a 40% chance to drop its raw material when mined.
Ore | Raw drop | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|
Azurite | Raw Azurite | 40% |
Brucite | Raw Brucite | 40% |
Corundum | Raw Corundum | 40% |
Cuprite | Raw Cuprite | 40% |
Fluorite | Raw Fluorite | 40% |
Ruby Feldspar | Raw Ruby Feldspar | 40% |
Tennantite | Raw Tennantite | 40% |
Wulfenite | Raw Wulfenite | 40% |
Xenonite | Raw Xenonite | 40% |
Unique dungeon ores: These five ores are rarer to find than standard custom ores. They also have a lower raw-material drop chance of 25%, so finding and mining a node does not guarantee a material drop.
Ore | Raw drop | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|
Chromite | Raw Chromite | 25% |
Chrysoberyl | Raw Chrysoberyl | 25% |
Dioptase | Raw Dioptase | 25% |
Hematite | Raw Hematite | 25% |
Galithite | Raw Galithite | 25% |
Galithite — the rarest ore: Galithite is the rarest of the custom dungeon ores, making it a particularly important find. Its deposits are much less common than even the other unique ores. Keep an eye out for its distinctive appearance, and save its materials for the recipes that need them.
Raw Galithite and the Galithite Gem are separate custom items. A recipe requiring a Galithite Gem needs the gem itself. Galithite has the same 25% raw-drop chance as the other unique ores; its exceptional rarity comes from how rarely its ore appears.
Raw materials and recipe ingredients
Use the item shown in the recipe: Recipes require the specific custom item shown in their ingredient slots. The raw material, ingot, and gem are distinct items. Use the exact form required by the recipe, rather than substituting another form or another material.
The ore pictures above show every raw material alongside its ore and corresponding ingot or gem.
Raw material | Ingot or gem form |
|---|---|
Raw Azurite | Azurite Ingot |
Raw Brucite | Brucite Ingot |
Raw Corundum | Corundum Gem |
Raw Cuprite | Cuprite Gem |
Raw Fluorite | Fluorite Gem |
Raw Ruby Feldspar | Ruby Feldspar Gem |
Raw Tennantite | Tennantite Ingot |
Raw Wulfenite | Wulfenite Ingot |
Raw Xenonite | Xenonite Ingot |
Raw Chromite | Chromite Gem |
Raw Chrysoberyl | Chrysoberyl Gem |
Raw Dioptase | Dioptase Ingot |
Raw Hematite | Hematite Gem |
Raw Galithite | Galithite Gem |
What the materials are used for: Custom materials are used across workstation recipes, backpack upgrades, Claim Blocks, Focuses, and Sigils. Each recipe has its own ingredients and amounts. Check the recipe book before spending your materials.
See Custom Tables for workstation recipes, Backpacks for storage upgrades, and Guilds & Claims for Claim Blocks.
Buying standard ingredients: Visit the market NPCs at spawn to buy standard custom ingots and gems, alongside ordinary mining materials. Check their menus for the current stock and prices. The five unique dungeon materials are not part of the regular Ores stock.
Quests, treasure, and ore modifiers
Mining quests: If a quest asks you to mine custom ores, mine them inside a dungeon. When it specifies a particular ore, mine that ore to progress the quest.
Treasure Hunt items: Dungeon ore rolls can also supply Ancient Sigils, Explorer Journals, Royal Sundials, Scepters, and Scrolls. These are objective items. Collect the items requested by your Treasure Hunt objective and submit them at the Treasure Altar. See Dungeons for completing an objective and leaving the run.
Ore modifiers: Ore-related modifiers, including Bountiful, Wealthy, and Flooding, can affect the resources obtained during a run. See Dungeon modifiers for their effects and the full modifier table.
Midnight Stone, Midnight Riftstone, and Rift Shards
Finding Midnight deposits: Bring a pickaxe and search underground in Survival between Y −48 and Y 24. Look for the brighter Midnight Riftstone within the Midnight Stone deposits.
Material | What it gives or does |
|---|---|
Midnight Stone | Underground deposit and custom building material. |
Midnight Riftstone | The brighter deposit that can drop Rift Shards when mined. |
Rift Shard | The material dropped by Midnight Riftstone; used in the Rift Crafter recipe and to start a new Rift Orb craft. |
Midnight Cobblestone | Used for dungeon portal frames, the Rift Crafter recipe, and other custom recipes such as the Cave Sigil. |
Collecting Rift Shards: Mining Midnight Riftstone has a 65% chance to drop an additional Rift Shard. A single block does not guarantee a shard.
Midnight Stone and Midnight Cobblestone: These are different custom blocks. In Survival, mining Midnight Stone gives Midnight Stone; in dungeons, the Midnight Stone node supplies Midnight Cobblestone. Use Midnight Cobblestone for a recipe or portal frame that requires it.
Plan your shards: If you are making your first Rift Crafter from scratch, plan for two Rift Shards: one for the workstation recipe and another to start your first orb. The regular shop also offers a Rift Crafter in Workstations; buying the table still leaves the shard and other orb material requirements to collect.
Continue with Custom Tables for crafting your Rift Orb, then Dungeons for entering the run and collecting its rewards.
